First-Class Mail®

USPS First-Class Mail is a cost-effective way to send envelopes and lightweight packages. It is typically used for personal or business correspondence, bills, and greeting cards. First-Class Mail is delivered in 1-5 business days within the United States, offering a nice balance between speed and cost. You can send standard-sized, single-piece envelopes and small packages up to 15.99 ounces with First-Class Mail.

Priority Mail®

When you need faster delivery, Priority Mail is a reliable choice. It offers delivery in 1-3 business days based on where your package starts and where it’s being sent. It comes with free tracking and up to $50 of insurance with most shipments. Flat rate boxes and envelopes are available, meaning that if your item fits within the box or envelope, you'll pay a single rate regardless of its weight or travel distance.

For the fastest domestic service, Priority Mail Express gets your letters and packages there overnight to most locations. It comes with a money-back guarantee, tracking, and $100 of insurance. This service is available 365 days a year, with limited exceptions, and is perfect when timing is critical.

Certified Mail®

When you need proof of mailing and delivery, Certified Mail provides you with a mailing receipt, and the delivery record is maintained by USPS. A signature is required upon delivery, and this service can be combined with other services like Return Receipt for an additional fee, which provides you with a physical or electronic copy of the recipient’s signature.

For added peace of mind, USPS offers delivery notification options such as Signature Confirmation™, which gives you the date, time, and signature of the person who accepts your package. Delivery notification can be valuable for important documents or high-value packages where confirmation of delivery is important.
